Adventures Through The Mind ~ Podcast
ATTMind is an interview-based podcast focusing on psychedelics. It is hosted by Canadian author and public educator, James W. Jesso.
“My primary goal with this podcast is to explore psychedelic cultures, research, and medicine. However, attached to that primary goal is a secondary goal: supporting the personal and cultural integration of psychedelic experiences in a functional and healthy way. I move towards that goal by exploring the psychedelic field with a curiosity for immediate and valuable relevance to a person’s lived life.
The psychedelic experience really shines when we find a way to integrate what we’ve learned from it into our daily lives. My desire to help that with that integration on a personal and cultural level is why I make Adventures Through The Mind.”
James W. Jesso is the author of Decomposing The Shadow: Lessons From The Psilocybin Mushroom and The True Light Of Darkness, both about his experiences exploring the potentials of psychedelics.

David Krantz and I talk about how our unique genetics influence our metabolism of cannabis (nutrigenomics) and the resulting impact of cannabis use on our epigenetic health. Furthermore, we reach into a discussion on how the same framework of understanding applies to our metabolism of psychedelics and the potential future of a genome-specific screening program for psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.
Hamilton Souther joins us on the podcast to talks about what it takes to become a true shaman, the medicine of the plants, and what the new age culture gets wrong about ayahuasca.
Amanda Siebert and I sit down to talk about what the science says about the pharmacology of the plant’s various components as well as the anecdotal uses of cannabis for bettering different areas of our lives, from sex to death. Of course, we also talk about the negatives, from cannabis addiction to cannabis hyperemesis syndrome.

Kambo refers to the secretions of Phyllomedusa bicolor, aka the giant monkey tree frog. Originating in the Amazon Rain Forest, tribes have used the frog’s secretions as a medicine for a very long time. The secretions are placed onto freshly burned holes in the skin to generate a powerful purging effect.
Elizabeth Bast is on the show to talk about her journey as a tantric practitioner and explore the potentials of a sexually empowered spiritual practice. We also talk about sexual consumerism; porn; toxic shame; #metoo; the historical use of entheogenic plants in yogic practice; and the (somewhat controversial) archetype of the sacred prostitute.
