I got my THC genetics tested.
Nutrigenomics is the study of how different variants in our genome (or DNA) changes the way we metabolize different nutrients. Cannabis nutrigenomics is the study of how hose variants affect our metabolism of cannabis. essentially, how our genes affect our high.
To get a better sense of my own cannabis nutrigenomics, I got my THC genetics tested through a company called Lobo Genetics, based in Toronto Ontario. The results are below.

Lobo tested for 3 different variants:
CYP2C9 | AKT1 | COMT
These three variants give insight into:
- How quickly my body metabolizes THC (and thus how strong it would affect me, and for how long) – CYP2C9
- My mental health risk with consuming THC, both acute or long term – AKT1
- How THC affects my working memory – COMT
Here are the results:
CYP2C9 – *1/*1 | AKT1 – C/T | COMT – Met/Met
Ok, but what does that mean in so far are my THC genetics?
Well. That is what the video below explores.
Not only does this video present to you my results, but the process of doing the test and it features an interview with Samantha Gordashko from LoboGene.com. She and I go over my results and break down further information about the research that supports our understanding of how those genes variants impact my THC nutrigenomics. (subreddit discussion here)

Does anyone have any information on where I can do such research in Europe?
Not I.
In fact, even this company seems to be perpetually out of stock on their testing kits.
