Adventures Through The Mind ~ Podcast
ATTMind is an interview-based podcast focusing on psychedelics. It is hosted by Canadian author and public educator, James W. Jesso.
“My primary goal with this podcast is to explore psychedelic cultures, research, and medicine. However, attached to that primary goal is a secondary goal: supporting the personal and cultural integration of psychedelic experiences in a functional and healthy way. I move towards that goal by exploring the psychedelic field with a curiosity for immediate and valuable relevance to a person’s lived life.
The psychedelic experience really shines when we find a way to integrate what we’ve learned from it into our daily lives. My desire to help that with that integration on a personal and cultural level is why I make Adventures Through The Mind.”
James W. Jesso is the author of Decomposing The Shadow: Lessons From The Psilocybin Mushroom and The True Light Of Darkness, both about his experiences exploring the potentials of psychedelics.

This post contains a discussion on suicide, psychosis, and abuse of power. It might be best to look at it at another time if you are not in the headspace to explore those topics right now.
Shane Mauss is on the show to talk about the context that led up to his drug-induced psychosis, his time in a psychiatric institution, and why he still sees psychedelics as valuable tools for mental wellness in general, but comedy culture in particular.

We welcome French cultural anthropologist and philosopher Martin Fortier on the show for this episode to discuss his research into how culture influences cognition. His current PhD research project consists of exploring the interplay between neurobiological processes and culture in hallucinogenic experiences. His main fieldwork is located in Shipibo communities of the Middle Ucayali, in the Peruvian Amazon.
What if a member law enforcement openly said that the laws and policing practices we have for addressing drugs in this society are not only ineffective but making the problem worse; that prohibition has failed and we need to quit repeated our mistakes and legalize, regulate, and control drugs?
