A former Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, Greg Wrenn is the author of Mothership: A Memoir of Wonder and Crisis, an evidence-based account of his turning to ayahuasca and endangered coral reefs to heal from complex PTSD, which was awarded the Brittingham Prize in Poetry. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in HuffPost, The New Republic, Al Jazeera, The Rumpus, and elsewhere. As an associate English professor at James Madison University, he weaves climate change science into literary studies. A student of ayahuasca for five years, he lives in the Shenandoah Valley with his husband and their growing family of trees.

Greg Wrenn Ayahusca cPTSD ATTMind Podcast We welcome Greg to the show to share his experience of complex post-traumatic stress disorder (cPTSD) and how it was that his explorations of coral reefs and journeys with Ayahuasca turned the tide on his lifelong struggle with the condition—healing his cPTSD with ayahuasca. Additionally, as both his experience of and healing from cPTSD is intertwined with his journalism on climate science, we also explore how the ecological and psychological effects of the climate crisis weave into our personal and collective experiences and expressions of trauma.
