Will psychedelics help us face the climate crisis?
Given the context of covid-19 having us stuck inside, here is some otherwise previously patron-only content for you.
Before I left Melbourne in October of 2019 I was interviewed by Melissa Warner from PRISM psychedelic research in science and medicine Australia. When and how that interview will come out? No idea. But a friend who was with us recorded this clip and I am sharing it here with you.
This short clip explores the intersection psychedelics and the climate crisis. Including how they might help us in facing the climate crisis, and how they likely won’t.
It was rather eerie to re-listen to it today and to see how many of the social consequences of the climate crisis are present during the pandemic, especially given that the covid-19 pandemic is ultimately a warm-up for the coming climate crisis (pun intended) which will hit us much harder than a virus we will eventually get vaccinated against.
Thankfully, what is happening now that wasn’t represented in the video, at least here in Canada, is an outpouring of generosity, support, and care for each other.
ANYWAY… Enjoy (well, as much as a foreboding dialogue on climate change can be enjoyed).
Audio quality isn’t great due to it being on camera but I did my best to clean it up as much as possible.
