Psychedelic Love-Making

I was offered the very unique opportunity to talk about the role of psychedelic use within intimate relationships for the Beautiful Works In Progress podcast out of Tel Aviv. Enjoy!

“James and I spoke about the current shifting place of psychedelics in our culture, both good and bad and about the cult of self-improvement for better or worse, before diving into an exploration of what it entails to go on a psychedelic journey of discovery with a significant other. Since many of us are still stuck at home and are looking for ways to enrich ourselves, we both wanted there to be a safe guide for people to reference and understand how to prepare themselves and their loved ones for such a journey.

We talk about how to present this idea to a partner, how to prepare and what to work on before the experience. What kind of experiences you can try to lead up to a psychedelic experience, and how to support each other if things get rough in the moment. We also speak about how to support a loved one in integrating a psychedelic experience into their lives, and we talk about James’s work in this field.”

We also talk about when/how to bring up your psychedelics use with new partners, when to seek counseling after a difficult psychedelic experience, and the problem of our society’s addiction to competence and mastery.
